Data Collection Driver

Seeking drivers to apply for a Street-level Imaging Vehicle Driver and travel with the company for several projects across the USA.

Operate a vehicle equipped with state-of-the-art digital camera arrays, GPS equipment and LiDAR to rapidly image 360-degree area around the vehicle. You need a valid driver's license and clean Motor Vehicle record, plus the physical capability to safely lift up and install a 70-pound camera onto a vehicle roof mount (straight out at arm's reach).

Trillium Drivers is now looking for multiple Non CDL Drivers to drive around in a Ford Escape (small SUV) with a camera on top collecting images and data.

Schedule is Monday - Friday, early morning start time. Can only drive when it isn't raining / snowing, so drivers are required to work Saturday and Sunday to make up for lost days due to weather. Driver will park car at their home and will need to install / uninstall camera on roof of car every day. Camera weighs approximately 70lbs and will be left in the back of the car overnight. $23 / hour, overtime after 40 hours.

Traveling : Stay in hotels, away from home for weeks at a time. Company pays for the hotel and flights. Earn a daily allowance for food and incidentals, per GSA per diem rates, while traveling.

Schedule : Requires flexibility in schedule as the mapping requires good weather (no rain, no snow) and daylight hours. You will often be required to work on Saturdays and Sundays. Five days a week, working when it's not raining. Overtime occasionally. Project must wait or pause if it rains or snows.

Responsibilities : Receive specialized training to drive public streets and roadways in a safe and efficient manner. Utilize onboard computer system to capture street-level images within given project area, including public streets, highways, and on / off ramps. Re-drive specific areas as required if first capture was insufficient due to poor lighting conditions, etc. Transfer electronic files between the Cloud, USB thumb drive and vehicle's computer system. Maintain contact with project manager regularly via personal cell phone (texting / voice / pictures / email). Utilize phone and email to submit daily / weekly reports. Interact professionally the public and / or with security guards to access secured areas if required. Operate independently. Be mission-focused and get the job done. Vehicle is operational daily and cleaned weekly inside and out. Complete daily reports. Send data disks via FedEx, receive shipments from FedEx. Track expenses when needed. Get the vehicle washed and serviced as instructed. Watch weather forecasts. Mount the camera on the roof at the start of each day. Safely but quickly remove the camera from the roof if rain starts. Remove the camera and securely store it in its case at the end of each day. Safely and responsibly handle the vehicle as well as the imagery system and other equipment.

Must have at least 1 full year of recent and verifiable delivery driving experience in a box truck, straight truck, cargo van or sprinter van. Must have clean MVR and ability to pass pre-employment screenings.

Additional Information : We welcome US Veteran, National Guardsman, Reservist or Military Spouse. Previous professional driving experience highly preferred. Valid driver's license and clean Motor Vehicle record. No accidents, no reckless driving, no DUIs in the last 3 years. No excessive tickets. Physically capable of safely lifting up a 70-pound camera unit onto vehicle roof and to safely reach roof of vehicle to mount and unmount camera quickly. Available and willing to drive overtime and weekends. Willing to travel for weeks at a time to various assignments, flying or driving to new locations as needed. Self-motivated with a high attention to detail to safely handle vehicle and imagery system. Must enjoy driving. Must be accessible by cell phone, this is required. Dependable and reliable with professional attitude and demeanor. Computer / technology literate to use phone, email, and Excel spreadsheets for basic data entry.
