Owner's Representative – Construction Manager (Pharmaceutical Projects)

Location : Clayton | North Carolina

Type : Contract | Full-Time

Duration : 12 months

Schedule : Standard hours with extended / on-call support during shutdowns

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to act as Owner's Representative supporting a portfolio of pharmaceutical capital projects . These roles will provide on-site construction oversight and coordination for facility, utility, and warehouse infrastructure upgrades across a large-scale manufacturing campus.

You will work directly with internal project teams and external contractors to ensure safety, quality, and timelines are met throughout all phases of construction. This is a field-focused position that requires attention to detail, confidence in high-compliance environments, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the Owner's Rep on active construction sites, overseeing daily contractor activities

Ensure adherence to safety protocols, construction quality, and compliance standards

Support capital project delivery including black / clean utility upgrades, warehouse modifications, and facility infrastructure work

Coordinate permitting with EHS, system owners, and project managers

Participate in scope reviews, pre-construction planning, and schedule updates

Provide input on RFIs, change orders, and contractor performance

Perform field inspections, maintain daily logs, and conduct QA / QC reviews

Support construction shutdown coverage (twice annually, may include 24 / 7 availability)

Required Qualifications

8+ years of Construction Management experience, preferably in pharmaceuticals or life sciences

Demonstrated leadership on capital projects from pre-construction through closeout

Strong understanding of construction safety and OSHA standards

Proficiency in reading CAD drawings, P&IDs, and specs

Comfortable working on-site in active construction environments

Familiar with Microsoft Office, construction logs, and field documentation

Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities

Experience supporting CQV / startup phases (preferred)

Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred, not required with relevant experience)
