Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage a team of fire sprinkler system designers.

Oversee the creation of system layouts and drawings from concept through to final construction documents.

Ensure all designs comply with NFPA codes, local jurisdictional requirements, and project specifications.

Coordinate design efforts with sales, estimating, project management, and field installation teams.

Review and approve all design submissions for accuracy, efficiency, and code compliance.

Manage project design timelines to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.

Provide technical guidance to resolve design issues and respond to RFI / submittal requests.

Maintain and improve departmental processes, design standards, and best practices.

Assist with training and development of junior designers.

Track and report design team performance metrics to leadership.

Stay current on industry codes, software tools, and technology improvements.

Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in fire sprinkler design.

NICET Level III or IV in Water-Based Systems Layout (preferred).

Proficient in AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and / or Revit (BIM experience preferred).

Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, particularly NFPA 13, 14, and 20.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and specifications.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred but not required).
