Summary Position Highlights : The Document Imaging Specialist Senior assess the workflow of the area to prioritize the team workload covering the functions of the satellite locations if needed. This position manages the outside storage of medical records, purging of Iron Mountain charts, and maintaining the database.
The Document Imaging Specialist Senior works with the internal customers; correcting scanning errors in the patient's chart and providing feedback to the supervisor to escalate issues and assist with issues resolution. In addition, the position serves as a subject matter expert assisting less experience team members on following operational policies. Trains and onboards new team members and participates in special projects assigned by the Mid Revenue Cycle leadership. This position will have knowledge to perform all duties and may need to assist in covering satellite locations if needed.
Responsibilities
- Participates in special projects assigned by the Mid Revenue Cycle leadership
- Serves as a subject matter expert on the team and assist less experienced team members on following operational policies and processes. Trains and onboards new team members
- Prioritizes the daily workload against the available staffing to ensure all tasks are handled and accomplished within the established time frames as observed by the supervisor.
- Assists and guides staff members in unusual or difficult situations to ensure problems / complications are resolved in a reasonable time frame and in a professional manner as demonstrated and observed by supervisor.
- Understands and can perform all duties and covers at the satellites locations if needed.
- Responsible for managing the outside medical record storage and associated activities as observed by the supervisor.
- Identifies problems with outside storage, works to resolve these issues or refers them to the supervisor.
- Oversees the medical record purging process to ensure the task is performed as required and within the appropriate time-frames.
- Makes all corrections received from external customers maintaining strict confidentiality of information without exception. Provides feedback to the supervisor who will them communicate with all external managers.
- Performs daily reviews of message center and uploads documents to power chart.
- Perform similar or related duties as requested & follows department policies and procedures
Credentials And Experience
High School Diploma / GED requiredMinimum of four (4) year experience with the patients' health records scanning process for all patient type, inpatient and outpatient, chart analysis and scanning data analytics and reporting.Minimum Skills / Specialized Training Required
