Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Brazoria, located in Lake Jackson, Texas, is a premier outpatient surgery center committed to providing high-quality, safe, and patient-focused care. We are seeking a full-time Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our perioperative team. This role is perfect for a nurse who enjoys providing compassionate, detail-oriented care to patients recovering from anesthesia in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Responsibilities
Monitor and assess patients in the post-anesthesia care unit following surgery
Administer medications, manage IVs, and provide interventions as necessary to ensure patient safety and comfort
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff to coordinate patient care
Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery instructions
Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner according to policies and regulations
Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety, and quality standards
Assist with patient transfers and prepare PACU for incoming patients
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Texas RN license
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience in PACU, PreOp, or critical care setting preferred
Strong patient assessment, IV, and medication administration skills
