Position Description :

The Fox River Valley Public Library District is seeking a dynamic, community-driven librarian who is passionate about working with children aged 0-12 and their caregivers to join the Youth Services team.

In this role you will :

  • Cultivate material collections for assigned areas
  • Provide reference and reader’s advisory services for patrons of all ages
  • Plan and present engaging activities, programs and events
  • Build meaningful community connections through outreach

Requirements and skills :

  • Friendly and compassionate customer service
  • A good working knowledge of books, movies and popular culture for youth
  • Knowledgeable about child development and age-appropriate programming
  • Prior experience working with children

    • Educational requirement : MLIS from an ALA accredited school
