About The Position

Job Title : Interventional Radiology Technologist

Profession : Tech

Specialty : Special Procedures / Interventional Radiology

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day

Hours per Shift : 10 hours (9 AM - 7 : 30 PM, Monday - Thursday)

Experience : One year of interventional radiology experience required

License : State Radiology Technologist License

Certifications : BLS, ARRT (R) required; ARRT (VI) preferred within 18 months

Must-Have :

• BLS certification
• State Radiology Technologist License
• ARRT (R) certification

Description :

Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, as well as image quality.

Must be able to communicate clearly with patients about the nature of the exam and relieve their anxiety.

Must demonstrate an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques.

Demonstrates the ability to supervise students providing patient care, treatment, and services as part of their training.

Applies knowledge to produce high-quality diagnostic images and meet department guidelines.

Assumes responsibility for maintaining professional competence through participation in continuing education.

Takes a customer service approach in all interactions with internal and external customers.

Communicates clearly and concisely with individuals at all levels while complying with confidentiality requirements.

Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served in the assigned practice.

Uses imaging equipment, PACS, and EPIC to process and retain images and exam-related information.

Uses radiation safety techniques and devices to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
