The Department of Chemistry, Physics, and Atmospheric Sciences (CPAS) at Jackson State University, within the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Experimental Biochemistry and related fields, beginning January 1, 2025.

The successful candidate will be expected to :

Establish and sustain a vibrant, externally funded research program.

Serve as an effective teacher and mentor at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Contribute professional service to the department, the university, and the broader academic community.

Support and enhance the department's mission of providing students with opportunities to pursue research careers in chemistry and biochemistry.

While we will give preference to applicants specializing in experimental biochemistry, we also encourage candidates from other areas of chemistry, including biomedical, biochemical, analytical, computational, and inorganic chemistry, to apply.

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry (required).
  • A postdoctoral research experience is also required.

  • The individual has demonstrated the ability to mentor students in research and support their academic success.
  • Willingness to contribute to departmental, university, and professional service.
