Evansville State Hospital is one of the Indiana State Psychiatric Hospitals who are committed to the mission of Hope and Recovery. Residing on 88 acres on the east side of Evansville, Ind., our facility provides medical treatment for chronic mental illness and substance abuse disorders from our dedicated team of psychiatrists and advanced practice professionals. Active Treatment helps our patients achieve their goals directed towards living in the most non-restrictive environment possible.
Our team of professionals assist our patients in the treatment process involving medical staff, nursing, psychology, social work, rehabilitation therapy, and our community integration program. Role Overview :
The Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) will provide direct client services, such as contributing to the evaluation process and carrying out treatment plans under the direct supervision of a licensed, registered Occupational Therapist.
This position is required to frequently exercise independent judgment and knowledge. The OTA will be treating clients on psychiatric units in group and individual settings as well as being involved in supportive activities including inventory control / audits, in-service education, and general department functions. Other position responsibilities include select hospital meeting attendance, communication, and coordination of occupational therapy treatment programs with the client and team members. Provide occupational support for clients of all ages (pediatric, adult, and geriatric).
Salary Statement :
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $50,024.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
