Salary :
This position will start their training in the Mason City location, and move to the Hampton location as their caseload builds.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Treat all individuals with dignity and respect while maintaining agency standards of confidentiality, professionalism and objectivity.
- Provide intervention, evaluation / assessment, individual, group and family counseling to individuals affected by behavioral health conditions to include all outpatient treatment programs.
- Develop and maintain a community referral network.
- Provide education and training to individuals, groups and agencies.
- Assume 24 hour on-call duty once every staff rotation as needed.
- Maintain all regulatory, contract and documentation standards and data collection, and complete necessary documentation in a timely manner.
- Consistent collaboration and coordination of care between all Prairie Ridge services.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all documentation and reporting systems to include IBHRS, Accreditation Now, MyOutcomes, and Electronic Health Record.
- Attend staff consultation, supervision and training activities as scheduled by agency and clinical department.
- Training to the level of proficiency in clinical practices identified as best practice by the agency demonstrated through supervision and direct observation.
- Demonstrate understanding and adherence to all CARF policies and procedures.
- Training towards minimum productivity hours as set by the agency standard.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Learning via routine observation of clinical staff, weekly individual supervision with direct supervisor and other members of management as assigned, weekly clinical development and training under Clinical Leadership Team; time scheduled for additional education opportunities and training including but not limited to additional continuing education hours beyond those required for credential, review of patient care monitoring (PCM), documentation practice and file compliance, and others as determined by clinical leadership team.
QUALIFICATIONS
For clinicians treating individuals with a primary substance use disorder diagnosis, an Iowa Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor credential preferred; ability to complete certification or license within 1 year of employment considered.Bachelor's Degree in health-related field preferred; equivalent job and education experience under Iowa Board of Certification parameters for obtaining Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor credential considered.Understanding of the mission of Prairie Ridge and the patients we work with.Proficiency in oral and written communication skills, as well as record keeping.Technology skills allowing for proficiency in use of electronic health record.Physical demands : The employee frequently lifts and moves up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
