Security Officer - Unarmed Government Site

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Government Site in Rochester, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a government location, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment. Your presence and proactive approach will contribute to a positive atmosphere, while you provide exceptional customer service and clear communication. Pay Rate : $23.00 / Hour

Job Schedule :

Day Time Mon 06 : 00 AM - 02 : 00 PM Fri 06 : 00 AM - 02 : 00 PM Sat 06 : 00 AM - 02 : 00 PM Sun 06 : 00 AM - 02 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related incidents in accordance with Allied Universal policies and client requirements.
  • Assist in controlling access to restricted areas and monitor entry and exit points as directed by site protocols.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with Allied Universal management, site personnel, and emergency responders as needed.
  • Support the overall security-related objectives of the location by maintaining a visible presence and engaging with the public in a courteous manner.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • A valid guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
