Job Description

This position is eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus.

Summary

  • Under the direction of the Director operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment and produces cardiac images according to policy / protocol.
  • Examinations performed include adult echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, contrast echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms and pediatric echocardiograms.
  • Responsible for assuring a high level of quality in all exams and providing the interpreting physician with all the necessary information in order to make an accurate diagnosis.
  • Collaborates with other departments to provide procedures in a timely and efficient manner for all involved.

Education

  • Associates of Science degree in health care field and successful completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program
  • Successful completion of a two year Echocardiogram training program;
  • Eligible for on-site training by obtaining an Associates of Science in a health care field or Bachelors degree in a health care related field with two years of cardiac related health care experience.

    • Licensure / Certification

  • Must have current CPR certification.
  • A valid license in Cardiac Ultrasound from the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or CCI
  • Registry eligible and obtain valid certification within 12 months of hire.

    • Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred.

    • Other Qualifications

  • Ability and knowledge of imaging the various anatomical structures and differentiating artifacts.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs., 150 lbs. shared lifting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications.
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills.
  • Must share responsibility to cover call, weekends and holidays.
