Description : Job Summary :
The Solar Quality Inspector is a field-based role responsible for ensuring that all phases of solar construction meet established quality standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in verifying workmanship, materials, and installation methods through systematic inspections and documentation. The Solar Quality Inspector collaborates closely with project managers, construction teams, and the Solar Quality Lead to identify and correct deficiencies, maintain compliance with design and safety standards, and support continuous improvement across the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions :
- Review project site plans, golden row benchmark, manuals and specification documents.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with all team members.
- Communicate quality reporting with Solar Quality Lead.
- Inspect and ensure quality of work performed over multiple scopes, including but not limited to : PV Piles, Electrical Piles, PCS Foundation, Racking, Torque Tubes, BHA, Slew Drive, MIB, Damper, SPC, Grounding / Bonding, Module, Wire Management, DC – Disconnect / Combiner Box – Mechanical, DC Grounding, CAB, BLA, PCS – Mechanical, SCADA Rack, J-Box – Mechanical, Agg Road Cap, CMP, Low Water Crossings, Fence, and Grounding.
- Utilize software for quality inspections, turnover documentation, and data collection.
- Exhibit a positive mindset and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Invest pride and care in every task, delivering work that speaks to commitment.
- Demonstrate a proactive safety mindset, fully aligning with and supporting company safety protocols.
- Maintain certifications including, but not limited to : OSHA 10, First Aid / CPR / AED, Bloodborne Pathogens, NFPA 70E, Hazard Communication, and LOTO Affected.

Education & Experience Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in construction management, logistics, or a related field preferredAt least 2 years of experience in solar, electrical, or construction quality inspection preferredAbility to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and other technical documentsFamiliarity with QA / QC processes, inspection checklists, and construction documentationWorking knowledge of solar project components and installation methodsStrong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, vendor management, and leadership skillsExcellent organizational, project management, prioritization, and inventory management skillsProficiency with equipment tracking and maintenance softwareWork Environment / Physical Requirements :
This position is on site, often in remote or rural areas. Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements in all work environments.
Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and working on elevated structures or within confined areasRequires extensive walking (2-10 miles per day)Regular exposure to construction-related hazards such as moving equipment, uneven terrain, noise, and electrical componentsSubject to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dustPersonal protective equipment (PPE) such as a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility vest, and steel-toed boots must be worn as requiredTravel up to 100% with regular travel between project sitesTAKKION is an Equal Opportunity Employer
