Nurse to Patient Ratio : 1 : 1, 2 : 1, or 3 : 1

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (South Carolina or compact state)

Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience (Cardiac ICU / CVICU preferred)

Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required

Previous travel nurse experience preferred

Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record (EHR) system a plus

Ability to float to MICU, SICU, and other critical care or medical units as needed

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate critical care to patients in the Cardiac ICU

Manage and monitor patients with open heart surgery, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, trauma, and medical overflow

Perform and assist with advanced procedures : chest tubes, Swan-Ganz catheters, temporary pacemakers, Cordis lines, cardiac continuous output monitoring, JP drains, central lines, arterial lines, tracheostomy, PEG, and G / J tubes

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EHR

Float to other critical care and medical units as needed, supporting up to 4 patients

Comply with all hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards
