The Engineering & Energy business units of Munich Re F&C (Facultative & Corporate) provides custom-made insurance solutions to the power, energy and construction industries. The team is a recognized market leader in these classes of business. For the Munich Re F&C (MRF&C) U.S. Corporate Engineering & Energy team, we are looking for a qualified Power Generation underwriter who will also be tasked with Energy and Construction placements. This role is preferably based out of one of the following office locations : New York, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, or Atlanta.
Apply specialized engineering (power-gen & renewable energy) and energy (down / midstream and specialty chemical) and insurance knowledge to adequately assess the potential exposure to risks underwritten in the Munich Re Facultative & Corporate Property (MRF&C) U.S. Corporate Engineering & Energy Division of Munich Re. Determine the appropriate terms and conditions and to consider risk-sharing acceptances. Manage a portfolio of corporate clients that typically renew on an annual basis. Consider new power-gen & renewable energy and down / midstream energy and specialty chemical risk opportunities in balancing the portfolio. Deliver superior energy underwriting MRF&C U.S. Corporate Engineering & Energy clients and so contribute to its overall profitability.

The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including Princeton (NJ), New York City (NY), Chicago (IL), Houston (TX), San Francisco (CA), and Atlanta (GA). The salary range posted below reflects market variations across various locations. The offer will be adjusted per geography.
The base salary range anticipated for this position is $135,600 - $226,100 plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position in New York City and San Francisco. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
