Job Summary Newberry Group seeks a highly motivated Governance Functional Analyst to support cyber governance, awareness, and reporting initiatives for the USTRANSCOM CIO .
This role is critical in ensuring the effective execution of cyber-related processes, maintaining compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) guidance, and enhancing the organization's cyber posture through structured governance and communication.
Location O’Fallon, IL Hybrid role – must have the ability to commute to Scott Air Force Base for occasional in-person meetings.
Clearance / Certifications Active DoD Secret Clearance required Target Salary $60,000 Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the CIO Team Lead in the areas of CIO governance and executive support, Cyber and IT plans support, and cyber engagements.
- Support the creation and maintenance of CIO processes and assist in the execution of CIO responsibilities.
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain strategic guidance, concepts, strategies, research documents, roadmaps and plans of action and milestones.
- Monitor the USTRANSCOM strategic calendar, develop schedules and topics, and coordinate with the staff to facilitate external engagements (outside of USTRANSCOM.
- Review products and documents as needed from both inside and outside of USTRANSCOM to assess impacts to TCJ6 and the command.
- Facilitate working groups, governance boards, and coordinate meetings with internal and external partners.
- Provide analytical support for cyber risk assessments, audits, and inspections.
- Maintain awareness of emerging cyber threats, technologies, and best practices relevant to governance and compliance.
- Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in cyber governance, compliance, or IT policy development.
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks, including RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and DoDI 8500 series.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing policy, guidance, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
