Operations Manager - Perry Place

The Operations Manager for Perry Place plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of a large university dining center, working under the direction of the Assistant Director and Executive Chef and adhering to franchise and Virginia Tech Dining standards. This position is responsible for overseeing various aspects of restaurant management, including staff supervision, food handling and safety, sanitation, and guest satisfaction. The Operations Manager also plays a crucial role in leadership, training, and fostering a team environment. The Operations Manager will collaborate closely with the Assistant Director and Executive Chef to maintain high-quality service and customer satisfaction while managing all operational and administrative aspects of the restaurant.

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in restaurant or food service management. Strong leadership and communication skills. Experience with employee relations, training, and performance evaluations. Proficiency in food safety regulations, including HACCP and ServeSafe. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and sanitation.

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, related field, or significant management experience of similar position. Knowledge of franchise standards and Virginia Tech Dining policies. Strong leadership and communication skills.

Salary $48,000 - $52,000 / year and commensurate with experience

Hours per week 40

Work schedule : Primarily day shift, Monday-Friday and approximate hours will be 7 : 00am - 3 : 30 pm. This position will be varied during school breaks and other times to include nights, late nights, weekends, holidays and as needed for good customer service.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check as well as a driving check with a safe driving record.
