About The Position

Job Title : Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

Profession : Surgical Services

Hours per Shift : 8 hours (10 : 00 - 18 : 30)

Experience : 2 years required, 4 years preferred

License : Valid license required

Certifications : BLS (AHA only), CST

Must-Have :

• Experience in ambulatory OR
• Community hospital experience
• Proficiency in various surgical procedures including ortho, spine, and robotics

Description :

Surgical tech needed for a community hospital surgery suite.

Start dates are either November 5 or November 12, 2025 only.

The facility is renowned for spine and joint excellence.

There are many orthopedic cases and use of Zimmer robotic systems.

Shifts are 5 days a week, Monday through Friday.

On-call duties are required 2-3 times per month from 22 : 00 to 06 : 30.

Additionally, one weekend on-call shift per month from 07 : 00 to 19 : 00 or 19 : 00 to 07 : 00 on Saturday or Sunday.

No floating is required between departments.

Documentation is performed using specific electronic medical records software.

Support services include interpretation, pharmacy, phlebotomy, physical therapy, radiology, rapid response teams, respiratory services, and social services.

Provider coverage is available 24 / 7 by intensivists, hospitalists, anesthesiologists, and CRNAs.

Experience in the OR for a minimum of 2 years is mandatory.

First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Scrubs will be provided for the duration of the assignment.

Candidates who live within 50 miles are not eligible.

Required skills include a variety of surgical procedures across multiple specialties such as general, bariatric, ENT, gynecology, orthopedics, urology, and vascular procedures.

Advanced robotic surgical experience and proficiency in aseptic techniques and instrument processing are also necessary.

Preferred skills include hybrid OR experience and various complex surgical procedures across multiple specialties.

The patient population consists of adults and geriatrics.

The average daily census is approximately 6 patients.

The unit offers a range of special procedures, particularly in ortho and spine surgery.

Candidates must comply with vaccine requirements, including COVID-19 and flu vaccinations.
