General Summary

The Paving Foreman supervises and coordinates activities of crew and ensures safe, efficient, and quality completion of assigned asphalt paving projects.

Essential Job Accountabilities

• Collaborate with Superintendent and / or Project management team to schedule materials, equipment, and work for the crew
• Complete required documentation and reports including but not limited to, crew timecards, daily reports, logs, incident reports and safety documentation
• Lead daily communication and safety meeting with crew regarding expectations, changes and other information
• Enforce and comply with all company policies, procedures and practices
• Train and mentor crew members to enhance their skills and knowledge
• Support employee counseling and performance appraisals
• Timely address safety and other job site concerns and issues with employees
• Monitor jobsite and crew safety to ensure work is being completed in compliance with project specification and safety standards
• Communicate with project management team regarding any delays, changes and / or emergencies at the job site
• Actively inspect work site for potential health and safety hazards
• Maintain safe work environment that complies with OSHA standards and safety standards
• Participate in training and other forms of development to strengthen technical, safety and other skills
• Perform other duties as required
