Overview

Global Impact Group LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and ISO 9001 / ISO 17100 certified provider of interpretation and translation services. We deliver secure, high-quality language solutions in more than 80 spoken and signed languages for USCIS and other federal agencies. We are seeking Kirghiz (Kyrgyz) Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Kirghiz is a Turkic language spoken in Kyrgyzstan and across Central Asia and is a high-priority language in asylum, refugee, and immigration cases.

Position

Kirghiz (Kyrgyz) Over-the-Phone Interpreter (OPI) for USCIS. This is a remote role supporting federal contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time Kirghiz (Kyrgyz) English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
  • Interpret accurately, impartially, and professionally in immigration and asylum contexts.
  • Maintain confidentiality in line with USCIS / DHS interpreter ethics and standards.
  • Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent / surge interpretation requests.
  • Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.

Qualifications

  • Native or near-native fluency in Kirghiz (Kyrgyz) and English.
  • 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, asylum, NGO, or government preferred).
  • Knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 federal clearance.

  • Base pay range : $28.00 / hr – $35.00 / hr (pay found in job post).
