Position Summary The Manager, Parcel Shipping Transportation is responsible for overseeing and optimizing Medline’s parcel shipping, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality service for all parcel customer deliveries. This role requires deep expertise in small parcel shipping, including operational experience with national and regional parcel carriers. The manager will resolve service issues, build and maintain carrier relationships, negotiate terms and rates, and address operational challenges that impact customer delivery experiences with third-party parcel carriers. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the company’s cost and service-related activities for parcel freight shipping.
  • Prepare and maintain data and reporting requirements related to parcel freight expense and service.
  • Resolve service issues by interacting with Medline Sales, customers, and distribution centers.
  • Facilitate improvements in parcel shipping operations by collaborating with engineering, central operations and distribution center partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parcel carriers.
  • Negotiate terms and rates with carriers to optimize cost and service.
  • Implement and leverage advanced analytics and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, SQL) to drive actionable insights and continuous improvement.
  • Drive digital transformation through TMS implementation, automation, and API integrations.
  • Present parcel shipping strategies and performance metrics to executive leadership.
  • Lead projects with quantifiable results that deliver value to the organization.
  • Develop long-term transportation strategies including network optimization, scenario planning, and capacity forecasting.
  • Champion last mile delivery optimization and carrier network strategy.
  • Design and measure customer delivery experience, translating insights into operational improvements.
  • Develop and execute risk management and business continuity plans for parcel shipping.
  • Maintain a strong customer focus to balance service, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with parcel shipping as a customer or service provider.
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel; Access or other database knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills for developing reporting, analyzing data, and delivering actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with carriers, peers, and cross-functional leaders.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting and cost management.
  • Experience leading projects with measurable impact.
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence.
  • Ability to influence and lead across various levels of the organization.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Experience with SAP and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

The anticipated salary range for this position : $96,200.00 - $144,560.00 AnnualThe actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and / or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold. Our benefit package includes health insurance, life and disability, 401(k) contributions, paid time off, etc., for employees working 30 or more hours per week on average.
