Director of Veteran Services

Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is currently seeking a Director of Veteran Services for Faith Mission Fairfield County, Lancaster, Ohio.

What will I do as the Director of Veteran Services with Lutheran Social Services?
- Responsible for direct oversight of Veteran Services Programs for LSS Faith Mission.
- Provide supervision and development of Veteran's Program staff to ensure that services provided are within the guidelines of Agency mission.
- Maintains compliance with CARF certification and with all other grant, funding source, and contractual parameters.
- Plan, develop, and implement comprehensive Veteran's services to benefit clients of Faith Mission.
- Work with SSVF / VAEH case managers to oversee the delivery of individualized "wrap around" services that address the holistic needs of Veteran clients, including housing, employment, healthcare, mental health, spiritual support, transportation, etc
- Ensure prompt and accurate completion of required documentation including HMIS data, progress notes, records of services received, housing outcome information, releases of information, consent forms, and other important client information in case files.
- Supervise direct reports to provide informed, professional services to entire customer base, including clients, other staff, volunteers, and visitors
- Provide professional leadership and direction to clinical / supportive services staff.
Requirements for the Director of Veteran Services with Lutheran Social Services :
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field; LSW and / or LISW strongly preferredExtensive experience working with Veteran's, homelessness, mental health, and chemical dependency required.Three years supervisory experience requiredThree years experience working with direct client servicesThree years supervising at least 4 to 7 direct reportsAdministrative reporting experienceKnowledge of community resources pertaining to client baseAbility to work with diverse groups of peopleExperience and ability to manage casework for a rapidly changing client baseSkill in word processing, spreadsheet and database softwareAbility to plan and prioritize workStrong oral and written skills. Skill in writing, coaching, monitoring case notes, client action plans, memorandumsExperience utilizing (minimally) the following techniques, interventions and EBP's : Motivational Interviewing skills, Stages of Change, Harm Reduction.Dedication to excellent customer service, dignity and respectAttention to detail and strong time-management skillsCommitment to and aptitude for working in a team environment inclusive of collaboration with other community providersAdministrative reporting experienceValid Ohio driver's license, access to reliable insured transportation and ability to meet LSS insurance standards requiredAs one of the largest non-for-profits in Central Ohio, we value our employees.
