2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic

Days : MF / Saturdays and occasional Sundays.

Hours : 2p start until production ends…idea would be 11 : 30pish.

Pay Rate : $24 / Hour

  • Safely perform repairs and preventative maintenance on production floor and facility
  • Work efficiently with production staff to support the day to day production processes with a sense of urgency
  • Troubleshoot and rebuild on all types of food packaging machinery, motors and similar devices
  • Work safely with hydraulic, pneumatic and thermal energies
  • Report any deficiencies to a supervisor in a timely manner
  • Maintain minimal production down time and solutions to reduce down time
  • Correct use of lockout / tagout program
  • Account for tools, utensils and other potentially dangerous equipment that are distributed on a daily basis
  • Attend documented training on company procedures
  • Keep the maintenance shop and all work areas clean and organized
  • Follow all HACCP, SSOP’s, SOP’s, and GMP policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements :

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Working maintenance experience and training in the food processing industry which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time (up to 50lbs and 100 lbs with assistance)
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Must have a high math aptitude; be assertive; and be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Able to understand, read, speak and write in English at 12th grade level for reading machine manuals, schematics, wiring charts, motor repair, MSDS, etc.
  • Must be able to withstand long periods in cold, warm, or wet / damp environments
  • Jean / Pants / steel toed
