About the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) :
The Certified Nursing Assistant protects, sustains, and nurtures Residents of the Masonic Home of Virginia by assisting with person-centered activities of daily living in a respectful, kind, and caring manner. Other duties as assigned. The shift for this position is 11pm-7am, two nights a week, and every other weekend.

Responsibilities of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) :
Assists Residents with person-centered bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring and eating / feeding promoting skin integrity, nutrition, hydration, and mobility in compliance with policies and procedures.Communicates Resident observations promptly to the Licensed Practical Nurse and documents observations completely and legibly.Promptly answers Resident call lights and offers assistance as needed in a helpful, caring manner. Assists co-workers as needed with Resident care.Engages Residents in individualized programs and activities of their preference.As necessary, greets Residents and visitors; answers the telephone and entry gate intercom in a respectful caring and helpful manner. Communicates all messages accurately and promptly to Residents and staff.Qualifications of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) :
Licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant by the Virginia Department of Health Professions; CPR certifiedGraduation from an accredited Nursing Assistant ProgramPrevious experience in healthcare with a general knowledge of assisted daily living needs preferably in a long term care or continuing care retirement community setting serving the elderly
