Summary

The Clinical Trainee position at UNIFI Autism Care is a full-time, clinical role designed to provide hands-on training and support under the direct supervision of a licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This position will fulfill the requirements of a full-time BCBA role—including supervision, programming, training, and related clinical responsibilities—but all work and hours will be reviewed and signed off by a licensed BCBA.

Clinical Trainees work closely with Programming BCBAs, Care Delivery BCBAs, and the Director of Clinical Integration to support the delivery of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to patients, families, and caregivers. The Clinical Trainee assists in implementing behavior intervention plans, collecting data, supporting Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and collaborating as part of a clinical team.

Applicants must consistently practice the values of UNIFI, including but not limited to demonstrating strong dependability, accountability, integrity, and compassion. While in the CT position, the applicant must continue to pursue further education into obtaining their BCBA certification. Failure to continue further education or a failure of the BCBA exam may result in removal from the CT position in which the applicant would be placed back into the RBT roll.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement and adjust behavior protocols as directed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Fulfill all aspects of BCBA-level responsibilities, including clinical supervision, programming, and training, under the review and sign-off of a licensed BCBA.
  • Support and provide training to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
  • Participate in patient observations, data collection, and documentation.
  • Provide ongoing support and training to patients’ family / caregivers.
  • Provide support and collaboration with other individuals within a patient’s Health Resource Community (e.g., pediatrician, OT, SLP).
  • Communicate regularly with supervising BCBA to ensure fidelity of care.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Care Delivery BCBA or Director of Clinical Integration.

  • Flexible availability, Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 a.m.–5 : 00 p.m.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • CPR / BLS certification (UNIFI will pay for certification and recertification).
  • Experience, Education, and further expectations

  • Actively pursuing further education toward obtaining BCBA certification.
  • Proficiency in implementing ABA principles and methodology, including skills acquisition strategies and behavior reduction strategies.
  • Current active and valid RBT certification.
  • Must have worked in the RBT position for at least 1 year.
  • Must continue making active progress towards board certification during their time in the position
  • Physical Requirements

    Requires the ability to operate standard office equipment, including a computer and iPad. Requires the ability to talk and hear (both in-person and on the phone). While performing job duties, the Clinical Trainee is frequently required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; stand; walk; run; stoop; sit on the floor; quickly transition from sitting to standing; climb stairs; use hands and fingers to handle and type; and use arms to reach and lift.

    Travel

    Clinical Trainees will use their personal vehicles to travel to therapy locations if needed. Travel time between therapy sessions will be paid by UNIFI. Mileage between therapy locations will be reimbursed according to company guidelines.
