About the Role

Birch Island Vet is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Veterinary Receptionist to join our front desk team. As the first point of contact for clients and their pets, you'll play a key role in providing a welcoming, organized, and supportive environment. Your work will help ensure smooth clinic operations and a positive experience for every visitor.

Responsibilities

Warmly greet clients and pets in person and over the phone

Schedule appointments and manage the daily calendar

Check patients in and out, process payments, and update records

Coordinate with the medical team to maintain efficient patient flow

Provide general information to clients regarding services, medications, and pet care

Maintain a clean, professional, and inviting front desk area

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years in a client-facing or receptionist role (veterinary experience preferred)

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Calm, friendly demeanor with a genuine interest in animals and their caregivers

Strong multitasking and organizational abilities

Proficient with phones, computers, and practice management software

Reliable, punctual, and collaborative team player

Preferred (but not required)

Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting

Familiarity with scheduling software, invoicing, and medical record systems
