As an Avionics Buyer, you'll be a critical pillar of the Firefly Purchasing Team. Step up, contribute meaningfully, and shape the future with us.
Responsibilities
- Procure materials, equipment, and services needed for daily Avionics operations.
- Negotiate and implement cost-saving programs with suppliers.
- Issue purchase orders, ensure timely delivery and resolve invoice issues.
- Act as primary contact between Supply Chain and Avionic team.
- Conduct comprehensive supplier analysis, including strategic direction, market and industry position, capabilities and capacity, and risk assessment.
- Manage and maintain supplier relationships and monitor status of work performed.
- Drive standardization and documentation of processes.
- Work with Logistics to ensure compliance and timely delivery of required materials.
- Support pre-flight expedite orders, shipments, and receiving.
- Create and maintain material stocking standards for flight materials.
- Create assigned category strategies to support continued expansion of the launch site. (construction, raw materials, piping, valves, labor, etc.)
- Proficiency to analyze quotes to determine the overall best offer for a product / service; including supplier past performance, capability, capacity, and financial stability.
- Collaborate with Firefly internal customers to understand requirements and road maps.
- Manage supplier returns and resolves inbound quality issues in a timely manner with internal stakeholders and the supplier.
- Follow Corporate Procurement Practices and Procedures when making decisions concerning negotiating, sourcing, and contracting for all goods and services purchased.
- Ensure clear communication of expectations and priorities with suppliers.
- Ensure suppliers adhere to Firefly Quality and compliance standards including supplier selection and part documentation.
- Support Firefly (QMS) Quality Management System objectives and standards.
- Support the creation and release of new parts in the system.
- Assist requisitioners in selecting suppliers that align and comply with Firefly ASL / AVL. (Approved Supplier / Vendor list).
Qualifications
Required
7+ years of Supply Chain program purchasing experienceBA, BS in related fieldGreat project management and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skillsStrong analytical skills, with the ability to back up conclusions with dataTime management skills, with the ability to separate the important tasks from the noiseSense of urgency, with the ability to work well under pressure and complete tasks on timeMS Office (including Excel, Word & Outlook)Software operation and data entry skillsPossess a valid "Real ID" driver's license, and clean driving record.Ability to pass Air Force background checksPhysical stamina to perform regular duties, including :Lift, push, or pull at least 50 poundsStand for long periods of timeCrouch, bend, and reachDesired
