Position Summary :
The Senior Loan Officer is responsible for making sales. This position requires strong sales and marketing skills, excellent communication and detailed follow-through. The incumbent is responsible for self-sourcing high-quality loans, while providing excellent customer service. Must be able to identify opportunities and develop strong business relationships with realtors, builders and other business partners.
This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position may be filled at a lower or higher level depending on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Skills :
GED or High School diplomaAbility to be customarily and regularly engaged away from the employer’s place of business engaging in sales activities3 years of experience in mortgage loan origination and a proven record of closing an average of $12M annually in self-generated mortgage loan sales (average over last 3 years) OR minimum 10 years of mortgage industry experienceKnowledge of the processing and underwriting functionsKnowledge of investor procedures / guidelinesAbility to build relationships with realtors, agents, brokers, builders, customers, title companies, insurance companies and other outside referral sourcesAbility to organize, prioritize and handle a high volume of loans in the pipeline all in various stages of the loan life cycleAbility to manage multiple contacts handling the loan at different stagesAbility to obtain registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS)Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, TeamsDeveloped cognitive skills to include Analytical, Problem Solving, Decision-Making, Innovation, JudgementDeveloped intrapersonal skills to include Ambition, Follow-Through, Self-Evaluation, Development, ResourcefulnessDeveloped interpersonal skills to include Communication : Listening, Speaking, and Writing, Collaboration, Client Focus, Influence, VersatilityDeveloped technology skills to include Knowledge Management, Social Branding, Agile DevelopmentDeveloped leadership skills to include Coaching & Development, Developing Followers, Achieving Results, Relationship Management, Addressing Conflict, Strategic Thinking, Business AcumenDeveloped sales skills to include Preparation, Connecting, Knowledge, Sales Drive, Prospecting, Presence, Opportunity Pipeline ManagementPreferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Skills :
Bachelor’s degree in related field or 4 years of related / comparable experienceKnowledge / experience with : EncompassPrevious supervisory experienceEssential Duties and Responsibilities :
Supervise Loan Officers, as neededDevelop new business by utilizing various methods that may include but not limited to : attending / sponsoring community or marketing events and realtor open houses, hosting realtor appreciation breakfasts / lunches / dinners, attending / conducting continuing education classes, attending / hosting broker tours, maintaining social networking sites, and cold-calling agentsSend email blasts to realtors, agents, brokers, and builders with new products and / or ratesTake complete and accurate loan applications and submit to ProcessingAnalyze and understand pay stubs and tax returns and calculate debt, business income and rental income to understand and explain to a loan applicant why their loan was approved / not approvedFollow credit guidelines to understand findings from credit reportsOrder appraisal and title fees and request required documents from customersCommunicate file changes to necessary departmentsReview and initial fee sheet and Closing DisclosureAttend closing or be available by phone, when possibleAssist with clearing investor conditions to get loan purchasedConsistently exemplify our Core Values of Integrity, Community, Dependability, Excellence, Longevity, and AccountabilityComply with regulatory rules and regulations evidenced through successful completion of training and demonstrated abilityPerform other duties and / or special projects as appointed by managementPhysical Requirements : primarily sitting with some standing, walking, lifting and bendingFidelity Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer / Veterans / Disabled.
