Summary / Objective

The Quality Technician follows end to end quality conducting basic to advanced quality tasks for production from raw material at incoming inspection through the manufacturing process to Finished Goods ensuring Supplier and Manufacturing quality is managed throughout, while maintaining regulatory compliance such as ISO, FDA and MDSAP.

The Quality Technician will work directly with operations personnel, quality engineers and product engineers to improve and sustain supplier and manufacturing quality.

The Quality Technician is a key member dedicated to product / process improvement by following the DMAIC methodology for improvement. Performing statistical analysis of production processes such as process capabilities, SPC and MSAs, utilizing Minitab, pareto or other quality related tools, including using lean six sigma methodology to improve manufacturing processes.

Essential Functions

  • Performs advanced quality control tests on components, assemblies and finished goods.
  • Performs PPAP inspection for incoming and in-process components and assemblies.
  • Intermediate use of inspection tools such as CMM or Vertex.
  • Perform audits such as cleanliness, work instruction and QMS audits.
  • Performs precision equipment calibration tasks such as CMM and Vertex.
  • Technical work instruction writing skills
  • Prepares samples and perform Mechanical Testing such as bend and tensile testing.
  • Trend data using statistical tools such as Minitab to perform statistical analysis such as Cpk and Gage R&R.
  • intermediate Quality tool skill set such as analyzing statistical data for improvements, understanding Root cause investigation and corrective action implementation.
  • Basic NDE support as Level I or II xray technician

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a Manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch.

    Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting and occasional crouching.
  • Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs., occasional heavier lifting.

    Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Preferred Education and Experience

    Calibration Technician-

  • Prefer Minimum two (2) years’ experience in instrument calibration, repair, and troubleshooting for inspection and manufacturing measurement equipment.
  • Technical education / training or a combination of coursework or certifications preferred.
  • This position requires demonstrated knowledge of several key areas of metrology but with a strong focus on physical / dimensional work.
  • You will have experience calibrating and troubleshooting the following types of tests and measurement equipment : pressure devices, micrometers, calipers, rings gauges, thread gauges, plugs, fixtures, surface plates, torque wrenches / drivers, and other mechanical type gauges.
  • Computer literacy skills required You will also have the aptitude to develop and maintain calibration procedures as needed.
  • The ability to work unsupervised and unsurpassed dependability is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
