Job Description : Join the U.S. engineering team of a global industrial equipment manufacturer specializing in complex, multi-axis precision laser processing systems used for high-accuracy applications. The role balances sustaining / optimization work on existing platforms with contributions to new features and product development once you've built fluency in the installed base. You'll collaborate in multi-disciplinary squads (electrical, mechanical, software / controls, service, and project management) on customer-specific solutions in a niche market with unique hardware combinations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate and select components that will provide a technically superior and cost-effective solution
- Be an integral part of a cross-functional Engineering team developing new products and features
- Review customer-specific requirements and satisfy customer needs through the design, test, and documentation of unique solutions for existing products
- Ensure quality by creating qualification and testing protocols to validate and verify designs
- Create, implement, and maintain documentation, including Bill of Material maintenance and schematics, using a company-specific ERP system and AutoCad Electrical software
- Work with suppliers, applying standard engineering practices, to develop component specifications
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and service personnel
- Create work instructions and good practice documentation
- Lead training classes for small groups (internal employees or customers) in areas of expertise
- Make recommendations to customers regarding machine usage and installation
- Support regulatory compliance of components and equipment
Qualifications
Required
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)3–8 years of industry experience supporting complex capital equipment, automation, robotics, or multi-axis machineryProven ability in advanced troubleshooting—system-level problem solving beyond parameter adjustmentsHands-on experience with PLC hardware / software in integration and diagnosticsExposure to board-level / PCB design and layout (even partial involvement is highly valued)Strong documentation discipline with BOMs, schematics, and ERP-based controlsU.S. Citizenship (required for ITAR / export compliance)Preferred
