General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Under the direction of the Director operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment and produces cardiac images
according to policy / protocol. Examinations performed include adult echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, contrast echocardiograms and transesophageal echocardiograms. Responsible for assuring a high level of quality in all exams and providing the interpreting physician with all the necessary information in order to make an accurate diagnosis. Collaborates with other departments to provide procedures in a timely and efficient manner for all involved.
Equipment utilized in the unit / dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
Philips IE33 and Philips Epiq. Epic EMR
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
2 years
Specific licensures and certifications / registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
Associates of Science degree in health care field and successful completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program; OR successful completion of a two year Echocardiogram training program
A valid license in Cardiac Ultrasound from the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or CCI Certification is required.
Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?).
Some call and weekends may be required.
Floating to other units / departments. (If so, to which units / departments?)
Will not float to any other area.

Can wear hospital provided scrubs.

Will orient to the hospital and department. Will train in department specific processes to accompany echo procedure, example EMR, Contrast administration. MANDATORY ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED FOR ALL 7 DAYS OF ORIENTATION.
