Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a CVICU night shift assignment requiring at least two years of recent cardiac ICU experience and ACLS / BLS certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) within a mixed medical-surgical ICU setting
  • Facility features a 16-bed unit with a patient population including cardiac surgery recovery and general med-surg ICU cases
  • Common patient diagnoses include valve replacements, CABG, and AAA repairs
  • Shift is 12 hours, nights (7p-7a), with a requirement to work every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • Float first when necessary within the facility
  • On-call and holiday coverage required
  • Uses Cerner EMR; experience preferred
  • No Medical Assistants or CNAs on the unit
  • Responsibilities include care for post-cardiac surgery and med-surg ICU patients with support from a cardiothoracic surgeon and PA
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Orientation consists of 3 shifts (12 hours each)
  • Sterile technique and Relias Dysrhythmia examination may be required depending on facility location
  • Returning candidates cannot have been employed by CommonSpirit facilities within the past year
  • Candidates may be required to provide a copy of driver’s license for consideration

  • Active RN license (state or compact) required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU or critical care experience
  • Current certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and COVID vaccination
  • Proficiency in immediate post-op cardiac surgery recovery required
  • Experience with IABP, CRRT, and ECMO preferred but not required
  • Completion of a proctored CVICU exam and Zoom interview prior to offer
  • Two professional references required, including one recent supervisor reference
