Medical-Surgical (MedSurg) RN – Travel Assignment

📍 Department : MedSurg

# of Beds : 25 total (4 are Special Care Unit (SCU) beds with ICU / stepdown level care)

🕒 Shifts & Scheduling :

Shift Length : 12-hour shifts

Shift Times : 07 : 00 – 19 : 30

Scheduling : Block scheduling only (no self-scheduling)

Weekend Requirement : 2 out of every 4 weekends

Holiday Requirement : Assigned holiday coverage; travelers must be flexible to fill in as needed

Call / Standby : None required

Floating : No floating outside the unit

🛏️ Nurse-to-Patient Ratios :

Days MedSurg : 1 : 3-4

Nights MedSurg : 1 : 4-5

SCU (ICU / stepdown) Vented : 1 : 1-1 : 2

SCU with drips : 1 : 3

Some nurses will care for both SCU and MedSurg patients depending on acuity

💉 Certifications Required :

BLS (required for all)

ACLS (required for all)
