As the Certified Demo Operator, you will focus on three primary functions : machine deliveries, product demonstrations, and support of sales activities (such as internal sales training).
Primary responsibilities include : machine deliveries with a focus on compact construction equipment (CCE); basic training on machine operation / functions and operating techniques; machine demonstrations, including head to head vs. competition; accompanying sales reps on customer consultations; assisting with matching machine and tool to application; developing / delivering internal (Yancey) sales training; supporting certified dealer instructors (CDI) on customer training programs; and supporting marketing events.
Additional responsibilities include : participating in required safety program, and working in a safe manner; and additional duties as assigned by manager.
To be successful in this position you should have prior experience operating machines of all kinds and CAT product knowledge including safety, operation, application, maintenance and repairs. You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to take direction and work in a team environment is essential to this position as well.
Education / experience : high school diploma or equivalent preferred; minimum 3-5 years machine operation experience.
Required qualifications / skills include : ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers; technical skills sufficient to be able to work through product issues; mechanical aptitude; ability to travel; professional interpersonal skills to cooperatively work with people and to effectively perform machinery demonstrations; working knowledge of Yancey Bros product offerings and competitive product line including model designations and equipment applications; willingness and ability to obtain at minimum 1-2 Caterpillar Machine Certifications; must maintain a professional appearance at all times with exemplary conduct in and outside of the work environment; have excellent time management skills and operate independently with minimal oversight; comfortable speaking in front of groups / strangers; clean MVR and valid driver's license; and must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English. Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
