Job Summary
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all daily operations, ensuring the store meets customer service, quality, and financial goals. The GM leads the staff, enforces standards, and acts as a key driver of growth and consistency across shifts — especially during the critical early morning and weekend periods.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee opening and closing operations (cash handling, inspections, security)
Ensure product quality, consistency, and safety standards
Hire, train, mentor, schedule, and evaluate staff (baristas, sandwich makers, etc.)
Drive sales and profitability; manage food and labor costs
Develop and implement marketing / promotional strategies (local outreach, social media, specials)
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
Maintain inventory, ordering, waste tracking, and stock control
Lead by example : stepping in during busy periods, handling customer issues or complaints
Monitor performance metrics (sales, labor %, customer satisfaction) and adjust strategy accordingly
Foster a positive, team-oriented culture
Qualifications & Skills
Prior experience as a GM or assistant manager in restaurant, café, or fast-casual environment
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to manage finances (P&L, cost controls, budgets)
Familiarity with inventory and ordering systems
Excellent customer service orientation
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Must be comfortable working mornings and weekends regularly
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred : associate’s or higher in hospitality, business)
Food safety / sanitation certification preferred
Working Conditions
This role requires being on the floor, not a behind-a-desk job
Frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 25–35 lbs), bending
Peak hours include early mornings (e.g. 6 a.m. – 10 a.m.) and lunch shifts
The weekend shift load will be heavier, and the GM must lead that charge
