Job Summary
- The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) provides high-quality, compassionate, and timely care to patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ED RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care from triage through discharge or admission. This role requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
Patient Care & Assessment
Perform rapid and accurate triage using established protocols.Assess physical, psychological, and social needs of patients.Prioritize patient care based on acuity.Initiate appropriate nursing interventions in emergency situations.Clinical Duties
Administer medications, IV fluids, and other prescribed treatments.Assist with procedures such as intubation, central line placement, wound care, and resuscitation.Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes or emergencies.Communication & Coordination
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS, lab, radiology, and other departments.Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families.Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, shift handoffs, and care conferences.Documentation
Document assessments, interventions, medications, and responses accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).Maintain timely and complete clinical records per hospital and regulatory standards.Patient Discharge & Follow-Up
Provide discharge instructions and medication education.Plan and communicate follow-up care as needed.Ensure patient and family understanding of discharge plans and resources.Compliance & Safety
Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines.Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives.Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.Qualifications :
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licenseBasic Life Support (BLS) CertificationAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) CertificationPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
