Software Quality Assurance Engineer - J0048256 at Astemo Ltd.
Responsibilities
Plan, execute, and document software testing activities for production software and in-house test applications.
Apply the principles and practices of software quality assurance throughout the software development life cycle.
Monitor every phase of the development process to ensure that the design and software adhere to company standards.
Coordinate with development teams and leaders to relay issues and ensure releases meet target dates and budgets.
Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
Audit all aspects of the SDLC and usage of ALM tool sets.
Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.
Manage meetings and group processes to enhance problem solving, ensure high quality decisions, generate commitment, and address conflicts productively.
Prepare reports summarizing quality status of the various development processes.
Investigate causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.
Track quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts.
Stay up-to-date with new tools and test strategies.
Coach others on how work-related interactions contribute to high quality standards and prioritize short-term activities around team priorities.
Effectively share complex information within and across work teams.
Qualifications
Proven work experience in software quality assurance.
Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Hands-on experience with automated testing tools.
Keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
Willingness to help teammates, share knowledge, and learn from others.
Knowledge of software development processes using CMMI, Automotive SPICE, TS16949, and ISO26262.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work concurrently on multiple tasks with strong time management.
Good problem solving and analytical abilities; strong communication skills.
Experience with electronic control systems and automotive development processes.
Experience with design specifications and detailed software documentation; experience interfacing with customers.
Experience with PCs and application software (e.g., MS Office, Lotus Notes).
Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Education : Bachelors degree in Quality Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical area.
Experience : Minimum 1-5 years' experience.
Working Conditions
Physical Demands : Sit or stand for long periods; may occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
Travel : Domestic and international travel may be required to support project development.
