Summary :

The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring fiscal integrity and strategic alignment across all entities. Reporting directly to the CEO / President, this role plays a key leadership function in maintaining the financial health of and any other affiliated corporate entities as designated. This position manages core accounting functions, leads budgeting and forecasting efforts, and ensures timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Director of Finance also oversees and regulates corporate funds and accounts, approves expenditures, and provides financial guidance to support long-term sustainability and solvency. Through strategic financial planning and operational oversight, this role is critical in supporting the company's mission and growth objectives.

Job Functions :

  • Maintain and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, transparency, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget process, including departmental coordination, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor financial performance using KPIs and dashboards; identify trends, variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Oversee treasury functions including cash flow management, banking relationships, and investment tracking.
  • Provide financial modeling and analysis to support capital budgeting, rate structure evaluations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Align financial reporting with business strategy to support executive decision-making and long-term planning.
  • Supervise the Finance Department, including the Controller and Business Office Director, ensuring timely and accurate financial closings and receivable collections.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on financial aspects of compensation, benefits, and workforce planning.
  • Ensure timely issuance of complete and accurate financial statements and special reports with performance benchmarks.
  • Maintain oversight of debt payments and ensure compliance with financial obligations.
  • Design and maintain an organizational structure that supports departmental goals and promotes cross-functional collaboration.
  • Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and high performance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, including tax filings and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate quarterly and annual financial reviews with external CPA firms and auditors.
  • Monitor debt levels and ensure compliance with loan covenants and financial agreements.
  • Lead the regulatory rate review process in coordination with the Public Health Department and external consultants, ensuring timely and accurate submissions within the required cycle.
  • Stay current on legislative and regulatory changes impacting financial operations and advise leadership on necessary adjustments.
  • Work closely with the CEO / President, Chairman of the Board, and other executives to support strategic planning and financial prioritization.
  • Analyze operations to identify opportunities for cost savings, restructuring, or process improvements.
  • Provide financial insight and recommendations for contract negotiations, capital investments, and organizational growth.
  • Support long-term financial planning and scenario modeling to guide business decisions.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required
  • Master's degree in business administration (MBA), Accounting, or Finance preferred
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • 2-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2–4 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience in healthcare or government-regulated industries is a plus.
  • Skills :

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
  • Advanced financial analysis, planning, and modeling capabilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and ethical standards in handling confidential information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and operational execution.
  • Pay Range : $130K to $150K / Annual Salary
