Position Summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of CFHC’s senior leadership team, responsible for directing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO ensures that all non-provider clinical, facilities, and risk management functions operate efficiently to support the delivery of exceptional, patient-focused care. This position plays a vital role in driving operational excellence, fostering collaboration, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of CFHC’s operations, including medical, dental, and behavioral health services.
  • Ensure efficient patient flow, high-quality care, and customer satisfaction across all service areas.
  • Develop and implement systems for monitoring operational performance and reporting results.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and senior leadership to meet and exceed clinical and patient care goals.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance, licensure, and accreditation for all operational areas.
  • Build strong relationships with community organizations to enhance existing programs and develop new initiatives.
  • Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and program development, including grant applications.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate departmental leadership to foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Hybrid work model : Three days on-site, two days remote (subject to organizational needs).
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.
  • Travel to CFHC sites across Chicago as needed.

    Requirements

    Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Health, Health Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive management experience in healthcare operations, preferably within a community health or ambulatory care setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare administration principles and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
