DVS is seeking an UNIX Systems Administrator-Intermediate for a new opportunity at Ft. Huachuca in Sierra Vista, Arizona. A Secret clearance is required or the ability to obtain and interim Secret.

Intermediate UNIX Systems Administrator

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Intermediate UNIX Systems Administrator supporting the Web Development Team, Regional Cyber Center - CONUS (RCC-C) at Fort Huachuca, a 24x7 enterprise support organization.

This position will consist of :

Installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat OS hosting application servers

Monitoring log files, performance issues, and the production environment for mission-critical systems

Participate in an on-call rotation for support and server maintenance issues

Ensuring the security posture of the environment by applying and maintaining DISA STIG requirements

Engaging in continuous learning to stay abreast of relevant new and emerging technologies and security practices

Work independently and with others as part of a development team

Ability to set priorities and organize work to meet deadlines

Ensure compliance with standards, policies, and configuration guidelines

Maintain a cooperative working relationship with those contacted during the workday

REQUIRED SKILLS :

Experience with installing, configuring, patching, and upgrading Red Hat OS (6, 7, 8, and 9).

Working knowledge of Linux and UNIX operating systems

Working knowledge of bash scripting

Familiarity with DISA STIG regulations and mitigating findings

Ability to work independently without direction or guidance, as well as with a team

Experience with designing new system architecture, including multiple servers, redundancy, load balancing, etc.

Experience with testing web applications for usability and functionality

Basic knowledge of networking, databases, server hardware, and virtualization

Experience with or aptitude to learn advanced scripting, automation, programming, web-application development

Basic knowledge of working in an agile development environment

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

Requires HS + 4 years of similar experience, AA / AS + 2 or BA / BS +0.

IAT II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, SSCP or equivalent) required at start

RedHat, Linux or other certification from 8570 CE list required within 180 days after start date. List can be provided by request.

Secret clearance or ability to obtain interim Secret
