Job location is Remote with Flexibility... Applicants must live locally to be visit the office from time to time.
Based in Los Angeles (New York City, Wash D.C., Houston), the Pricing Specialist will be a key contributor in billing rates and special fee arrangement administration as well as financial analytics on legal matters. The candidate must be very flexible and highly committed to quality in order to establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
The role reports to the Pricing Manager.
Responsibilities include :
- Modeling matter profitability and providing scenario analysis to support pricing decisions for firm management.
- Researching and identifying firm matters which provide a guideline for billing attorneys to develop budgets for new matters and clients.
- Designing templates to assist attorneys with establishing budgets. Monitoring engagements on a regular basis.
- Overseeing maintenance of the Firm's rates and special fee arrangements database
- Creating analysis and designing reports or presentations to display pricing trends.
- Performing ad hoc analyses using the firm's various data stores and tools.
- Completing special projects on various issues as needed
Qualifications :
General understanding of fundamental elements of pricing in professional servicesMust be a proactive, self-starter who understands the details and can integrate them into a much larger strategic context.Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.Must have a strong customer focus, be responsive, work well under pressure and continually strive for efficiency and excellence.Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills are required to build and maintain effective relationships with senior management, attorneys and staff.Experience :
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field.2–4 years of experience in a pricing, FP&A, or data analyst role (law firm / professional services experience preferred).Must be able to work with large volumes of data and possess advanced proficiency in Excel (i.e., formulas, macros, pivots, data manipulation).
