General Manager

The General Manager is responsible for the overall performance and profitability of the service center. This role ensures operational excellence across all aspects of the moving and storage business, including local and interstate residential, commercial, and military relocations. The General Manager provides leadership to employees, ensures compliance with company policies and government regulations, and fosters a positive customer and employee experience through efficient operations and effective decision-making.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong knowledge of moving and storage operations
  • Solid understanding of logistics, transportation, and warehouse management
  • Financial acumen with the ability to interpret P&L statements
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

    • Required Education and Experience :

  • Preferred : Bachelor's degree
  • Preferred : Military or government contract moving experience
  • Required : 35 years of managerial experience in logistics, transportation, or moving & storage
  • Required : Proven track record of leading teams to achieve operational and financial goals

    • Working Conditions :

  • Mostly indoors, working outdoors is sometimes required
  • Lifting in excess of 20 lbs is sometimes required
  • Lifting in excess of 50 lbs is rarely required
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends, particularly during peak summer season
  • Travel may be required for training, meetings, or regional support
