Friends of Switchpoint is a non-profit organization that has been serving individuals, families, and veterans in Utah who are experiencing poverty and homelessness since 2014.

PURPOSE : The Switchpoint Shelter Housing Support Staff based at the Harris Apartments is purposed with providing basic support to the residents who are within the Apartment Complex at Harris Village. They monitor camera systems and complete perimeter checks outside and inside the building, properly record events that arise including interactions with law enforcement, monitor the ‘Good works credit program’, maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, co-workers as well as yourself..

Understanding the vulnerable nature of the community we are serving and being empathetic to their needs.Actively listening to the needs of residentsAssist in the tracking of the ‘Good Works Program’.Assist with activities for the residents that occur on site.Documentation
Clearly document any violation of Apartment rules to be actioned by the property managementClearly document behavior changes, for case managers to action.Clearly record any non- emergency / emergency incidents or activities that could become a safety concernLogging of use of building equipment available to residents, such as Wagons, Laptops .Professional Boundaries
Maintain appropriate boundaries with the residents by being empathetic yet professional.Following the Switchpoint Code of Conduct in relation to professional boundaries.Reporting any potential conflicts of interest to your manager, even if it is an indirect COI.Building Safety
Completes regular perimeter checks inside and outside the building.Locking and unlocking door systems.Monitor camera systems and log activity.Logging approved visitors with proper identification.Handle security issues / complaints by involving non-emergency dispatch or 911 for emergency services when necessary.Other Duties
Maintain a clean work environment in the assigned areaAssist with the preparation of cleaning items for the ‘Good Works Program’.Tasks as assigned by manager and reasonable requests by Property Management after consultation with team leader.REQUIREMENTS :
Human Services experience preferred but not essential.Ability to function in a team environmentCPR CertificationEffective Note Taking / Record keepingComputer Skills (especially Office 365 Suite and Google Suite).Attention to detailOrganization SkillsPhysical fitness as climbing stairs is regularly requiredCOMPENSATION
Starts at $16 / hour and Caps at $18 / hour.
