Overview

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

First Citizens Bank offers an exciting summer internship program that provides development opportunities and hands on work experience while creating a talent pipeline for the Bank. Our interns will apply classroom knowledge in a corporate environment while making a positive impact across the organization and the communities we serve. The data analytics and reporting intern will gain practical experience in the field and contribute to the organizations data-driven decision-making process. They will spend time gathering and analyzing data to identify CRA activities and loans. They will provide project support by taking part in the development of reports for tracking of our Community Benefits Plans' progression and regulatory reporting. Tasks will include working closely with Business Analysts to understand qualification process to decide eligibility and analyze data to find trends through reporting.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will :

  • Be part of a dynamic team with interesting projects.
  • Accountabilities can and may include areas such as research, analytics, projects, strategy, process review and improvement, as well as technology enhancements and support.
  • Attend professional development sessions, informational sessions, networking and community service events.
  • Have a dedicated manager and program manager to help you navigate the bank and the internship program.
  • Be assigned a project, designed to improve a specific process or solve a problem that you will present at the close of the internship.
  • Prepare a wrap-up presentation to be shared with the division leader and other key stakeholders in the company to outline your accomplishments and experience during the internship
  • Work closely with Business Analysts to understand qualification process to decide eligibility and analyze data trends.
  • Provide project support by taking part in the development of reports for tracking of our Community Benefits Plans' progression and regulatory reporting.
  • Gather and analyze data to identify CRA activities and loans.
  • Investigate data discrepancies and respond to requests for analysis.

Internship dates : 5 / 27 / 2026 - 7 / 31 / 2026

Qualifications

Required qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution (during the time of the summer program)
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the program
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • 3.0 minimum GPA
  • Experience with the Microsoft office suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Pursuing a degree focused in computer science, statistics, or data analytics and visualization.
  • Experience with data visualization applications. i.e. – Tableau or PowerBI
  • Meticulous, capable of conducting thorough research and have effective communication skills, with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow
  • Possess a positive attitude, naturally curious and enjoys collaborating with others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to adapt and adjust priorities based on business needs
  • Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly
  • The base pay for this position is generally between $22.44 and $34.32. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and / or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
