Overview

Position Title : Web Developer (Temporary). Job Category : Academic Staff. Employment Type : Terminal (Fixed Term). Job Profile : Web Developer.

Job Duties : Leads and participates in the design, development, layout, coding, maintenance, and support of websites and applications to meet the needs of functional users. Designs, develops, and deploys custom interactive web applications and integrates logically designed databases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Audit existing website content, structure, and functionality in CommonSpot.
• Meet with department administrators and faculty to discern what information needs to be migrated to intranet and / or public facing website.
• Transfer necessary information to the WordPress site based on existing or improved design standards.
• Migrate all relevant content (pages, documents, media, links, etc.) to WordPress.
• Ensure accurate URL mapping and implement 301 redirects to maintain SEO.
• Rebuild or replace custom functionality / modules in WordPress, if applicable.
• Conduct QA testing to ensure a seamless user experience and proper functionality.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review progress and gather feedback.
• Provide documentation and training for ongoing site maintenance in WordPress.

Compensation : $63,000 - $68,000 commensurate with qualifications

Education : Bachelor\'s degree in information technology, or three years\' experience in web design, integration, coding, etc.

Physical Demands

Ability to work for extended periods at a computer; requires other office demands, including eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment.
