Part-Time position 9 : 00am to 2 : 00pm on weekends and some weekdays.
Part-time position (including weekends) with flexible starting / stopping times according to customer needs. Staff members of the Guest Services department will be responsible for the welfare of all guests and clients of the Dow Center while they are on property. This is accomplished through the appropriate care of the physical aspects of the building to include guest rooms, meeting rooms, public areas, rest rooms and the adjacent exterior areas (parking lots and sidewalks). Guest Services staff is responsible for maintaining an environment that is pleasing and inviting to prospective and current guests and clients while providing all amenities necessary to enhance a customer-driven service organization.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain a personable and pleasant attitude. A good first impression is essential.
- Daily housekeeping of hotel rooms following departmental procedures
- Wash, dry, fold, store all DHCC linen in accordance with accepted and established department laundry procedures.
- Maintain a clean entrance to the facility : daily removal of debris, litter, leaves, dirt and snow from entrance to street; emptying trashcans and cleaning cigarette receptacles.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms includes fixtures, hardware, tile, mirrors, partitions and floors. Replenish supplies as needed.
- Maintain front lobby, upper and lower lounges, hotel hallways by daily vacuuming, mopping and window washing ensuring all areas are neat and tidy at all times.
- Clean carpets, upholstered furniture, conference chairs as needed or scheduled.
- Assist with setting up tables and chairs for events in the conference center
- Maintenance and proper storage of all of all tools, equipment and supplies.
- Perform minor maintenance repairs for the safety and comfort of our guests and clients such as : tightening screws, changing light bulbs, changing batteries, touch-up painting, etc as instructed.
- Knowledge of AV equipment ( LCD projectors, screens, podium & mics) in order to assist clients as needed.
- Possess the ability to fulfill the requirements of a daily job list.
- Be flexible in scheduled work time and willing to work other shifts including weekends and holidays.

Education and Experience
This position requires a high school diploma along with two years of customer service and / or hospitality experience or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the job.

Physical Requirements
This is a part-time position and requires weekend work together with flexible starting / stopping times based on hotel needs.Ability to be on feet for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, climb and lift a minimum of 35 lbs.Requires average physical strength.Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment as required.Potential for occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, or other infectious / hazardous materials.Open Date : 09 / 22 / 2025
