Meet the Expansion team :

The Expansion team is committed to expanding the Rover platform to better cater to the needs of pet parents. We are a motivated group of individuals who initiate new business lines, collaborating with a startup approach to introduce and refine new products.

Engineers on the Expansion team have the exclusive chance to influence innovative features from the ground up while also leveraging the backing and resources of an established technology organization.

What we’re working on :

The team is currently in the early stages of iteration on a product that allows pet parents to book with brick and mortar daycare centers within the Rover product.

This evolution in the platform, which has previously only offered peer-to-peer pet care, has the potential for significant long term business impact.

We are looking for exceptional engineers who are enthusiastic about working together and driving innovation to turn this ambitious project into reality.

Joining our team means closely collaborating with product and design counterparts to shape the scope and behavior of our products.

We highly value individuals with imaginative thinking and problem-solving abilities, using efficient solutions to achieve exceptional results.

Our ideal candidates will have full stack web application development experience and be comfortable working with Python / Django, React, and React Native.

You should enjoy owning projects from end to end and be motivated to continuously learn and improve your craft as a software engineer.

To succeed in this role, you should have a genuine enthusiasm for building customer-facing products that enhance the lives of both people and pets.

You should take pride in seeing your efforts have a significant impact on the success of the business and the satisfaction of our customers.

Your Qualifications :

  • 3+ years experience as a professional software developer.
  • Comfort working across the entire system from frontend to backend.
  • Experience with Python or another backend language.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and schema design.
  • Enthusiastic about automated testing, maintaining code quality, and implementing effective engineering practices.
  • Intuitive sense for when a solution is "good enough" versus when it requires additional polish.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and thrive in a team-oriented environment, aligning with Rover's Core Values.

Compensation :

  • In the greater Seattle area the first-year salary range is $118,476- $152,686. Additionally, Rover offers benefits to full-time employees.
  • The cash compensation offered for this role will be dependent on the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and abilities as demonstrated in the interview and hiring process.
