Job Description
We are seeking a Controller to join our client's team based in Gonzales, Louisiana. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting operations in an industrial setting.
This includes maintaining accurate financial records, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring the smooth operation of our ERP system.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee and manage all general ledger activity with complex mergers and acquisitions
- Ensure timely month-end close and board presentations
- Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with standard procedures
- Conduct complex financial analysis to determine present and future financial performance
- Organize and manage the financial reporting process, including the preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Oversee the development and implementation of systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information
- Ensure compliance with all internal processes
- Continuously review and improve financial and process controls and ERP data mining
- Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance

- The applicant must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or a similar financial management position.
- Proficiency in month-end close processes is essential with very strong systems skills
- The candidate should be competent in preparing financial statements and board reporting
- The role requires strong skills in financial analysis.
- A bachelor's degree Accounting is required and CPA is very strongly preferred
- The candidate should possess excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Office Suite is expected.
- The candidate should be able to demonstrate strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- A thorough understanding of business principles and practices is necessary.
- The candidate should have superior attention to detail.
- Knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods is required.
- The applicant must possess excellent organizational and planning skills.
- The role requires the ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Advanced knowledge of mergers and acquisitions and complex accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state / national regulations is expected.
