Position Location :
This role will not report to a physical facility. A qualified candidate will need to live in or be willing to relocate to a residence in the NW Indiana area (or a reasonable commute to the territory).

Responsibilities
As an Outside Sales Representative, you will call on an existing customer base of independent lumberyards and prospect for new accounts within your territory.
This includes route planning, call planning, business development, product training, and product demonstrations, as well as resolving customer service issues and meeting all goals.
Responsibilities :
- Recommending products to customers based on customers' needs and interests
- Contacting regular and prospective customers to demonstrate and explain products
- Preparing estimates and bids that meet specific customer needs
- Providing customers with product samples and catalogs
- Consulting with clients after the sale in order to resolve problems and provide support
- Answering questions about products, warranties, prices, availability, uses, and credit terms
- Identifying prospective customers by using business directories and / or following leads
- Participating in organizations and clubs; attending trade shows and conferences
- Negotiating details of contracts and payments; preparing contracts and order form

Qualifications
Requirements :
In the Outside Sales Representative position, you must be tenacious, self-managed, team-oriented and able to deliver a high level of customer service.
You must understand the building materials industry well enough to discern customers from competitors. A qualified candidate should be independent, entrepreneurial, and able to run a territory like their own business.
You must have a strong work ethic and be ready to become a responsible and competitive owner.
Other requirements of the Account Manager role include :
- 1 2 years of Inside and / or Outside Sales experience
- Experience in the Building Materials industry or related, preferred
- Qualified applicants must live in or be willing to relocate to the sales territory
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history
- General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
