SUPERVISOR BIOMED EQUIP TECH | CLINICAL ENGINEERING | VARIABLE
Overview :
Support the department objective of Clinical Engineering - Responsible for supervising the daily operation of the Clinical Engineering Department by ensuring : Appropriately trained staff, staff performance, adequate supplies, and inventory and perform repair, modification, preventive maintenance, safety testing, evaluation, and installation of biomedical and other patient care equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan and current asset management software.
Supervise personnel by staffing and scheduling technicians in a manner that assures the best service possible. Coach and mentor technicians by providing feedback on performance and documentation habits to deliver continuous service excellence.
This includes employee motivation, hiring, discharge, discipline, promotion, performance evaluation, and salary adjustments.
Applies knowledge and experience of technology and / or equipment to oversee site operations and provide direction to others.
Provides technical direction to the Biomedical Engineering staff Technician when assistance is required. Coordinate implementation of medical technology including assessing site preparation requirements, managing project activities and timelines, monitoring installations, facilitating training of biomedical equipment technicians.
Coordinate technical support activities across the network include, integration of medical devices to Electronic Medical Record, by demonstrating strong skills and tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of complex biomedical equipment and interconnected systems (VLAN, isolated network and Shands network).
Assist project managers with projects related to medical device by leading biomed staff project teams; Works with customers to understand and analyze operational procedures, information requirements, processes and / or other needs.
Qualifications :
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements : Must have one of the below : Associate degree in Biomedical Electronics or Electronics Program with minimum 7 year experience in electronics maintenance or medical equipment in a healthcare environment.
Bachelos degree in a Biomedical Engineering Technology with minimum 5 year experience in electronics maintenance or medical equipment in a healthcare environment.
Bachelors degree in engineering, electronics, or other related technology fields and 10 years of medical equipment service experience in a healthcare environment.
Associate Degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or related technology fields and 7 years of medical equipment service experience in a healthcare environment.
US Military Training in Biomedical Electronics or related technology fields and 7 years of medical equipment service experience in a healthcare environment.
CBET preferred. Management experience preferred. A valid State of Florida drivers license and a driving record acceptable to both the Hospital and the insurance carrier and proof of current automobile personal injury protection (PIP) and liability insurance is required.
Requires an extensive knowledge of biomedical equipment, analog, and digital electronics. Must have a working knowledge of pertinent safety regulations, physiology, and some medical terminology.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation : Employees in this position : Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-frequent driver' Licensure / Certification / Registration : CBET preferred
